Thanks. I'm a bit nervous because it's the first day. My name is Alex, by the way.

Nice to meet you, Alex. I'm Sarah. I'm a little nervous too, but I'm excited to finally start learning.

Me too. I decided to take this evening class because I need to use English more at my job. What made you sign up?

I've always wanted to travel more, and I think knowing the language will make it much easier to get around. Have you studied this before?

I studied a little bit in high school, but I've forgotten almost everything. How about you? Do you have much experience?

Not really. I've used a few apps on my phone, but this is my first time in a real classroom. I hope the teacher isn't too strict!

I hope so too! It looks like the instructor is walking in now, so we'd better get ready.
